Keen to take points off Old Haberdashers

-

Having picked up a vital win over bottom of the table Fullerians in their last match, Marlow head coach Rory Greenslade-Jones will be targeting further points from Saturday’s trip to the Old Haberdashers.

With Marlow likely to be safe from relegation if they finish off the bottom of the table, Greenslade-Jones and his players can breathe a little easier after their hard-earned 24-19 win over Fullerians two weeks ago.

It was an attritional clash, dominated by both team’s hulking forward packs, however, the hosts managed to scramble their way over the line for three tries to take the points and move six points clear of the bottom club with a game in hand.

Speaking last week, Greenslade-Jones said that of their remaining five matches, Saturday’s trip to play Haberdashers was a match they could target to further ease their fears of the drop.

They then host third from bottom Aylesbury at Riverwoods on Saturday, March 2, a match that could see them leapfrog their visitors. After that they face tougher tests away to leaders Amersham & Chiltern (March 16) and at home to fourthplaced Hemel Hempstead (March 23) before finishing the season away to fifth-placed Old Priorians on April 6. So, it’s vital they put some points on the board in the coming weeks.

Windsor will go in search of a 12th straight win in the Counties 1 Tribute Southern North this weekend when they get back to league action at Rams 3rds on February 24.

Andy Symons’ side have been sweeping aside teams left, right and centre in recent months, and recorded a massive 62-14 win over Bracknell’s 2nd team in their last outing.

However, it likely won’t be enough to rein in league leaders Beaconsfield, who’ve been invincible so far this season – winning all 17 of their matches. Having crushed Grove 73-17 in their last match, Beaconsfield will all but certainly go on to lift the title and claim promotion, however, Windsor play them in their final game – a chance for them to puncture that flawless record.
