Applicatio­n to build 33 homes at Burnham’s former Haymill centre site

Plans for 33 homes in Burnham, 28 homes in Slough and a series of road closures are in the public notices this week.

Planning

Slough Urban Renewal has applied for planning permission for 33 homes in the Haymill site in Burnham.

The applicatio­n site previously comprised of educationa­l and communityu­se buildings known as the Haymill Centre, which were cleared to ground level in 2014 and The Haybrook College has now been built on the land immediatel­y north.

The proposed homes comprise a mix of two to four-bedroom units with private gardens, car and cycle parking, landscapin­g, internal roads and a new primary access from Littlebroo­k Avenue.

Slough Borough Council has also received planning permission for residentia­l flats on Herschel Street in Slough.

The site is located in Slough town centre and is bounded by adjacent twostorey properties.

The existing site comprises a car park with 26 car parking spaces that serve surroundin­g buildings.

The proposal accommodat­es an 11storey block of 28 homes including six studio apartments, associated parking, cycle storage and waste storage.

Road closures

Next month, Furnival Avenue in Slough will be closed to vehicles between its junction with Farnham Road and 3 Furnival Avenue.

The road closure will come into operation at 12.01am on Tuesday, March 19 and will end at 11.59pm on Friday, March 22.

In April, Fairlie Road in Slough will be closed to vehicles for one day.

The works will take place on Sunday, April 14 and take place between 12.01am and 11.59pm.

No cars will be allowed down Fairlie Road between its junction with Edinburgh Avenue and its junction with Buckingham Avenue.

Later in April, Salisbury Avenue in Slough will be closed to traffic for roadworks.

The road closure will come into operation from a minute past midnight on Monday, April 15 until a minute to midnight on Friday, April 26.

No vehicles will be permitted along Salisbury Avenue between its junction with Cumberland Avenue, and its junction with Surrey Avenue.

In the same week, Holmedale in Slough will be closed to traffic for roadworks. The works are due to begin on Tuesday, April 23 from a minute past midnight and will end on Thursday, April 25 at 11.59pm.

The road closure will take place on

Holmedale outside numbers 1 to 3 and numbers 2 and 8.

Finally, Ajax Avenue will be closed to traffic for nearly one month due to roadworks.The road closure will come into operation at 12.01am on Monday, April 8 until 11.59pm on Friday, May 3.

Traffic will be prohibited on Ajax Avenue between its junction with Leigh Road and number 651 Ajax Avenue.
