Lace up for Easter 50 Ultra challenge

-

Participants will be taking to Windsor and its surrounding areas to walk, jog or run as part of the Easter 50 Ultra Challenge this April.

The event organised by the Ultra Challenge Series features three challenges and those joining in can choose to take part in either the 50km, 25km or new 10km.

Taking place on Saturday, April 6, all challenges will start from the base camp at Windsor Racecourse.

The 50km challenge will see people take a figure-of-eight route from Windsor, following the Thames Path, passing Eton College and Old Windsor before enjoying a break for snacks and drinks in Runnymede.

The Long Walk will then take participants towards Windsor Castle, and, following a lunch break at base camp, people will take to the Thames Path and have a rest stop at Dorney Court before being welcomed back to the racecourse.

As part of the 25km challenge, those taking part will head along the Thames Path, passing Alexandra and Home Park, before making a pit stop for snacks and drinks near Runnymede. They will then head to Windsor Great Park, before coming back to base camp.

The 10km challenge, which is new for this year, will take participants around Eton, before crossing over the river to the Windsor area.

The route will then head west, where those taking part will enjoy views of Windsor Castle before coming back to base camp for a picnic lunch.

The event has a host of official partner charities which participants can fundraise for.

Some of these include Macmillan Cancer Support, Mind, the British Heart Foundation, Alzheimer’s Society and the Great Ormond Street Hospital charity.
