Slough Town's u11s girls’ team are heading to Wembley Stadium for the final of the National League Trust tournament after winning through the final round of the southern qualifiers at Arbour Park on Tuesday.

The young Rebels side saw off the challenge of teams from across the National League and National League South and will now take on the best u11s team from the northern side of the draw at Wembley before the National League play-off final on Saturday, May 4.

The event was staged by the National League Trust, with the help of Slough Town club volunteers, and the best u111s boys/mixed team and girls team progressed to the final at Wembley Stadium.

Having already come through regional qualifiers, teams travelled from as far afield as Southend United and Torquay United for the tournament, but the Rebels team were able to make the most of their home advantage.

They battled through the early rounds of the competition before overcoming Eastbourne Borough in the semi-finals and Southend United in the final to lift the trophy and claim their place at Wembley Stadium.

In the boys/mixed competition Aldershot Town claimed the title, defeating Torquay United in the semi-finals and Eastbourne Borough's u11s side in the final.

A statement on Slough Town’s website said: “The whole day was a huge success and was played in a fantastic spirit and atmosphere.

“We would like to say thanks to everyone who came and supported, the coaches and children, the referees, and our own volunteers.

“Best of luck to the winners at Wembley Stadium.”
