Far from plain sailing for BA

-

Windsor 1, British Airways 2 Windsor's home game with British Airways on Tuesday evening was far from plain sailing as the home side suffered their second league defeat on the bounce.

Having swatted aside London Colney last week, the Jacks were comfortably beaten 3-0 by Kensington's Rising Ballers on Friday before being edged out 2-1 by BA at Holloways Park on Tuesday.

The results leave them just outside the relegation zone in 19th, however, their survival had been all but secured a few games ago. Windsor and BA started the game 48 points and 17 positions apart, with the hosts having seven u18s players in their lineup, however, for much of the game, Windsor gave as good as they got. After a bright opening 10 minutes, mistakes allowed BA in to score. Alfie Inman uncharacteristically passed the ball to Reece Keary in his own area, enabling the BA striker to pass the ball into the net in the 13th minute. The visitors then increased their lead i the 18th minute when Marco Rapso curled an excellent shot beyond Tommy Dymott.

They managed to grab one back before half-time when Sam Healy weaved his way into the box and picked out Alessandro Peliccia (on for the injured Alfie Inman) who took one touch before smashing the ball high into the BA net. A perfect goal that was perfectly timed just before the break, but while the second half ebbed and flowed and included chances for both sides, Windsor couldn’t take any of theirs. Windsor travel to Brook House this coming Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
