Parking

The price of on street parking across Slough looks set to increase as the council has advised it wants to make changes.

It is proposing to raise the price of parking for 15 roads in the town where parking can be paid for via a ticket or other means.

Price rises are divided into four bands: A, B, C and D.

There are also proposed ticket price increases for seven public car parks.

An hour ticket at Buckingham Gardens and Burlington car parks is proposed to increase by 30p to £1.50.

The largest change is for Herschel Street Multi Storey Car

Park, which could see the prices increase by £1 for each available hourly ticket.

In addition, the council is proposing to increase the fees of season tickets for its public car parks near the town centre.

The price of a seven-day-a-week, 12-month ticket at Herschel and Hatfield multi-storey car parks, as well as Burlington and Buckingham Gardens car parks, increases by £160 to £1,990.

For a five-day-a-week, 12-month ticket, this increases to £1,730 – also up £160.

There are also changes to onemonth and six-month tickets.

Road closures

A road closure to stop vehicles turning in to Langley High Street is set to come into force from April 25.

The closure is being made to reduce the number of vehicles around Holy Family Catholic School between times children would be arriving and leaving the school.

These are during term-time from Monday to Friday: between 8.15am and 9.00am, and 3.00pm and 3.45pm.

Bicycles are exempt from the restriction and the council has advised waivers will be issued of residents of Langley High Street and staff working at the school.

Emergency services will also be exempt from the closure.
