Mela will feature dance and music

A premises licence for Slough Mela 2024 is in the public notices this week.

The event planned for August 18 will feature films, live music and dance performanc­es if approved.

The timings for the event in Upton Court Park will be from midday to 8.30pm.

A proposal for 301 apartments across two to 11 storeys on Bath Road has been submitted.

The developmen­t would include a 201-space undercroft car park and a new pedestrian route along Brook Path.

The proposal intends to improve pedestrian links and animated street frontage along Bath

Road, Burnham Lane and Brook Path.

Road closures

Two major Windsor carriagewa­ys will be closed next week for resurfacin­g works.

The B470 Datchet Road and B470 River Street will be closed from 8pm on Wednesday, May 15 until 6am on Thursday, May 16.

No vehicles will be allowed on Crimp Hill to facilitate gas works later this month.

The road between the boundaries of Myrtle Cottage North and Myrtle Cottage South will be closed from 8am on Tuesday, May 28 until 5pm on Friday, May 31.

The diversion route for vehicles affected by these works will be via Crimp Hill, B3021 Burfield Road, A328 Priest Hill, Ridegmead Road and Crimp Hill.

Datchet Road in Slough will be closed between its junction with the Red Cow Roundabout and Datchet Meadows in Datchet Road next month for roadworks.

The road closure will begin at a minute past midnight on Tuesday, June 18 and end at a minute to midnight on Wednesday, June 19.

Uxbridge Road in Slough with its junction with Dolphin Road will also be closed for roadworks next month.

The road closure will be in operation from

12.01am until 11.59pm on Thursday, June 27.

Ragstone Road in Slough with its junction with Chalvey Road East and Chalvey Road West will undergo roadworks in August

The road closure will be in operation between 12.01am on Sunday, August 18 and 11.59pm on Monday, August 19.

Similarly, Buckingham Avenue in Slough between its junction with Liverpool Road and Bestobell Road, will be closed from 12.01am on Saturday, August 3 until 11.59pm on Sunday, August 25.
