Group set to build £ 30m Soli­hull HQ at busi­ness park

CON­STRUC­TION group BAM has been ap­pointed to build a new £ 30 mil­lion head of­fice in Soli­hull.

The com­pany has won the brief to con­struct a new HQ and train­ing academy for the IM Group of com­pa­nies on Fore Busi­ness Park where around 250 staff will re­lo­cate.

Cur­rently head­quar­tered in Coleshill, IM Group in­cludes IM Prop­er­ties, Spit­fire Be­spoke Homes and In­ter­na­tional Mo­tors.

BAM is work­ing on sev­eral projects in Birm­ing­ham in­clud­ing Three Snowhill and the first two of­fice build­ings at the £ 700 mil­lion Par­adise project.

For IM Group, it will cre­ate an open- plan main of­fice build­ing, with large ex­ter­nal ter­races to serve the café and gym­na­sium, and var­i­ous other build­ings in­clud­ing a new HQ for Chris­tian Vi­sion, a char­ity es­tab­lished by IM’s s founder Lord Ed­mis­ton.

The move has been n prompted be­cause the e land at its cur­rent head d of­fice has been com­pulso- rily pur­chased to make e way for the HS2 high- speed rail line.

BAM’s project man­ager r for the scheme David d Hart­ley said: “This is a very y high spec­i­fi­ca­tion de­vel- op­ment.

“Dur­ing the ten­der dis- cus­sions, the client gave us s a sense of their am­bi­tion n

- which is for a very im­pres­sive struc­ture both ex­ter­nally and in­ter­nally.”

It has been de­signed by y Birm­ing­ham- based archi- tec­ture prac­tice Webb b Gray and is due for com- ple­tion in sum­mer 2019.
