New data laws won’t make any difference

CRIKEY, I am sick of people notifying me that their privacy policies have been renewed.

My phone has been buzzing with messages. “Click to agree”.

Will it make any difference? As I have little doubt that within months it will have been sold on and probably been used to fix an election on some remote Pacific island.

But that is the way of new technology, we have not really got control of what it does or where it goes, and all these “new” safeguards will be as porous as the last lot.

After all, if hackers can get into the Pentagon, then I would imagine that my firewall is about as much good as a chocolate kettle. Name and address supplied.
