Beautiful cities are putting us to shame
LIVERPOOL is indeed a beautiful city, as is Cardiff.
Both these cities received as much bombing in the Second World War as we in Birmingham did and the rebuilding was done with great care to bring back the glory of former years.
All Birmingham did, and is still doing, is replace anything of beauty with steel and glass and as long as it goes straight up and down then that is their idea of style.
It all brings to mind the song of the late Pete Seeger ‘ Little boxes all made of ticky tacky’ and they all look just the same. Margaret Bishop, Solihull
