Merits of leaving EU just ignored

Solihull News - - LETTERS & EMAILS -

A RECENT poll by You Gov suggests that a referendum re- run would result in a remain result. This is not at all surprising when, since the initial result was announced in June 2016, all of those who promised to honour the result have done all that is in their power to reverse the vote at every turn. If we had stood shoulder- to- shoulder then it could all have been sorted by now.

The Londoncentric Europhile establishment being so sure of a remain result allowed the vote and were shook to the core, but they soon mobilised themselves and from the days of the Gina Miller court case, projects fear 2& 3, even the man seen waving EU flags on news bulletins ( who’s paying him?), to the recent clamour for a “people’s vote”, on and on it has gone.

I cannot remember a single TV programme discussing the merits of leaving once in two years and, although they are manifold, have been totally ignored.

As for the man who was the real architect of the vote, Nigel Farage, he has been largely sidelined by the pro EU TV stations.

Be aware that should there be a re- run then the establishment who were so complacent last time would in no way let it be a fair fight this time around.

The ballot paper would probably offer two choices, “Remain” or “Stay” in the European Union. Terry Coates, Kings Norton
