Soli­hull cel­e­brates busi­ness suc­cess on top awards night

OPTICIAN chain Spec­savers was crowned a dou­ble win­ner while Thurs­field Solic­i­tors took out­stand­ing team of the year at the an­nual Soli­hull Ex­cel­lence Awards.

The an­nual Ex­cel­lence Awards are run by Soli­hull Busi­ness Im­prove­ment District ( BID) and were held at St Johns Ho­tel.

They cel­e­brate busi­nesses and in­di­vid­u­als across eight cat­e­gories.

Spec­savers’ town branch won the cor­po­rate so­cial re­spon­si­bil­ity project award for its ‘ 25 in 25’ cam­paign while the trainee award went to Ki­ran Kaur who is learn­ing to be a dis­pens­ing optician.

The 25 in 25 ini­tia­tive sup­ported 25 lo­cal grass- roots projects through­out 2018.

Spec­savers was also highly com­mended in the out­stand­ing team cat­e­gory.

Soli­hull BID’s direc­tor Melanie Palmer said: “The Ex­cel­lence Awards con­tinue to go from strength to strength and have be­come an an­nual cel­e­bra­tion and show­case for the breadth of tal­ent and in­no­va­tion in Soli­hull town cen­tre.

“We have an un­ri­valled two square miles of suc­cess in the town cen­tre and these awards pro­vide the per­fect op­por­tu­nity to show the rest of the re­gion why Soli­hull is sim­ply the best.”
