Thousands of fans flock to NEC as event returns

Solihull News - - FAITH MATTERS -

COSTUMES were the order of the day as thousands of fans flocked the MCM Comic Con.

And they certainly went to town with their outfits at the event at The NEC over the weekend.

On the opening day, people went dressed as everything from Silent Hill nurses to Captain Jack Sparrows.

Brandishing light sabres, there were plenty of Star Wars jedis and stormtroopers together with a few Darth Mauls and Chebaccas thrown in for good measure.

There was a Hobbit, a Joker, Harlequin and Captain America too.

Some even went as classic family movie and TV icons such as Elmo from Sesame Street and Mary Poppins and Bert the chimney sweep.

Stars at this event included Jason O’Mara from Marvel Agents of S. H. I. E. L. D, Mary McDonnell from Battlestar Gala, David Morrissey from The Walking Dead and Roger Ashton Griffiths from Game of Thrones.

But it was not cheap to meet them as an autograph could set you back up to £ 50 and a photo session up to £ 60.
