Time to crack down on wood stoves fad

Solihull News - - LETTERS & EMAILS -

OVER the past few weeks there has been a number of letters published regarding the introduction of congestion charges in the city and the effects of diesel engines on the environment.

However, what I consider a threat, almost as great to the city’s air quality, is the proliferation of wood- burning stoves.

I cannot see the point of trying to improve the current situation without embracing the whole spectrum of transgressors.

Wood burners have in the last few years become a popular and dangerous fad.

Anyone who remembers the air quality in our city prior to the inception of the Clean Air Act will also know of the health Robert Betteridge
