Bri­tish Wildlife Open is a new ex­hi­bi­tion, cel­e­brat­ing the best of Bri­tish wildlife art in var­i­ous medi­ums in­clud­ing paint­ings, prints, tex­tile art and sculp­tures. Or­gan­ised by Som­er­set Wildlife Trust (SWT), in part­ner­ship with lo­cal arts char­ity and gallery ACEarts in Somer­ton, it show­cases some of the best con­tem­po­rary art in­spired by Bri­tain’s di­verse wildlife.

A panel of judges, in­clud­ing the trust’s pa­tron, wildlife film-maker Si­mon King, will an­nounce the over­all win­ner at the ex­hi­bi­tion open­ing on 6 Oc­to­ber. Vis­i­tors will also be able to vote for their favourite art­work for the Peo­ple’s Prize, pre­sented at the end of the show.

Bri­tish Wildlife Open is free to visit and all the works are for sale. Pro­ceeds will be shared equally be­tween Som­er­set Wildlife Trust and ACEarts to sup­port their work in Som­er­set. Pic­tured is Bum­ble Bee and Meadow Flow­ers by Susie Thomas. It’s on from 6 Oc­to­ber
