ARTISTS’ WILDLIFE INSPIRATION
British Wildlife Open is a new exhibition, celebrating the best of British wildlife art in various mediums including paintings, prints, textile art and sculptures. Organised by Somerset Wildlife Trust (SWT), in partnership with local arts charity and gallery ACEarts in Somerton, it showcases some of the best contemporary art inspired by Britain’s diverse wildlife.
A panel of judges, including the trust’s patron, wildlife film-maker Simon King, will announce the overall winner at the exhibition opening on 6 October. Visitors will also be able to vote for their favourite artwork for the People’s Prize, presented at the end of the show.
British Wildlife Open is free to visit and all the works are for sale. Proceeds will be shared equally between Somerset Wildlife Trust and ACEarts to support their work in Somerset. Pictured is Bumble Bee and Meadow Flowers by Susie Thomas. It’s on from 6 October
