Here comes the bride
From a bevy of bridal boutiques to the sensational choreographed catwalk show, brides-to-be and their gorgeous gowns will take centre stage at the autumn edition of Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint Arena in Exeter from 13-14 October
Every bride’s quest for her wedding dress is different. From those that find the perfect gown at the first bridal appointment to the ladies who only discover their dream dress after months of despair, each bride’s journey to finding ‘the one’ has a tendancy to be unpredictable.
Streamlining the search, Bride: The Wedding Show offers the perfect place to hunt for wedding dresses and buy gowns on the day. The two-day show will
‘The atmosphere is always buzzing’
take place at Westpoint Arena in Exeter from 13-14 October and will feature a host of local wedding suppliers including several bridal boutiques, such as Taunton-based businesses Amingford Bridal and Sassi Holford.
Kristine Overd, manager of Sassi Holford Taunton – a returning exhibitor, says: “We love coming to the wedding show at Westpoint; the atmosphere is always buzzing, and the catwalk shows are so much fun. Offering a unique option to create your perfect gown with designer Sassi Holford, our stand is not to be missed.”
There will be show-exclusive offers and discounts available during the weekend so brides can ensure they’re getting the best prices. Each bride will receive a complimentary copy of South West Bride magazine, so that even if they don’t find their dress on the day they can continue their search from the comfort of home.
Complementing the extensive list of wedding suppliers in attendance - which also includes stationers, photographers, florists, venues and more - the choreographed catwalk show will guarantee wedding wear ideas aplenty. Running three times daily (11.30am, 1.15pm and 3pm) and presented to an electric arrangement of music and choreography, the catwalk show will be a dazzling display of the finest designer dresses available, as well as forwardthinking designs in menswear, bridesmaids’ dresses and occasion wear. The brands and businesses taking to the stage include: Sassi Holford Taunton, Pirouette, John Lewis, TL Bridal, Zebel, Lovely, Jane’s of Torquay, Jonathan Hawkes and The Ivory Secret.
Amy Newell attended last year’s event as a bride-to-be with her mum and said: “I’ve definitely got ideas on my wedding dress from the catwalk. There were two designers that we liked and followed up after the catwalk show. We’ve made a promise to visit them after the show. It’s also nice to see suppliers who are close to where we live that we wouldn’t normally know about.”
Tickets for Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint Arena are £5 each or £15 for a group ticket of four adults when booked in advance (booking fees apply). Tickets are £7.50 on the day. Under 16s go free. For more information visit bridetheweddingshow.co.uk/wedding-show/exeter.
