Staging the awards

With its landscape backdrop and modern conference facilities, Somerset’s famous county cricket ground makes a perfect venue for the awards ceremony

We are delighted to be hosting the Somerset Life Food & Drink Awards yet again for such a fantastic evening celebrating the best in Somerset.

The Cooper Associates County Ground is situated with a backdrop of the Quantock and Blackdown hills and each of its rooms has superb views overlooking the cricket pitch and Taunton’s churches.

The town’s newest £1.5 million conference centre also offers outstanding facilities that can be tailored to suit any occasion.

Varied and flexible facilities for conferences, meetings and training events can also be provided.

There are a variety of bright and spacious function rooms and party venues, so small and large groups can be accommodated. Because the facilities are so flexible, rooms can be used to cater for large private dinners and dances or smaller family gatherings.

The venue has a large amount of on-site parking and is also within easy reach of the M5. The mainline train station is also just a 10 minute walk away.

The Somerset Pavilion, opened in 2015, offers luxurious suites and the 1875 Club room, as well as the Stragglers Coffee House which has a varied menu and is open every day including non-match days.

Alternatively, visitors can enjoy near 360-degree breath-taking views across the Taunton skyline and the beautiful Quantock Hills from the Thatchers Terrace on the top of the Somerset Pavilion.

The Colin Atkinson Pavilion offers bright and spacious function rooms on two floors in the Long Room and County Room, offering perfect party venues accommodating from 40 to 400 guests.

There’s a variety of catering options at the venue and the friendly staff team will be happy to discuss any requirements, prior to individual events. Options include two to three-course dinner menus, or finger or hot fork buffets with vegetarian options, and menus can always be adapted to suit those with special dietary requirements.

With the festive season approaching, the venue is offering party nights which are a perfect way to enjoy a company gettogether before the Christmas break with fantastic food, great music and delicious cocktails.

The home of Somerset County Cricket Club is also available for both wedding ceremonies and receptions, a unique venue for a special day.
