A superbly view-rich walk in the Quantocks, following in the footsteps of poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge. This is another route across high open land so you need to be happy about navigating and a GPS is good if you have one.
From the stone plinth in the car park take the clear track,
The Great Road, that starts immediately to the left of the plinth. This heads south east up onto Beacon Hill. Follow the Great Road for 1 mile, ignoring any side paths, until, shortly after the valley of Gay’s House Combe on the left, at grid ref ST132406, a path heads across the grass to the left. Take this, then head generally north along the Greenway Path. Follow this to a fingerpost at grid ref ST133422. Turn west on the bridleway
(the Coleridge Way), dropping
