Ilminster Emporium Opening
The Mayor of Ilminster, Cllr
Phil Burton, cut the ribbon and officially opened the Ilminster Emporium in its new home, in the old RA Dyer shop on
Silver Street. Guests enjoyed refreshments provided by Bonners and Wineworld, before meeting some of the traders including The Chair Ladies, Artie
Flora, Natural Baby Accessories, Marc Wood Bespoke Joinery and Forget Me Not Designs. Originally a drapers shop, R A Dyer had been in business since 1870 before its closure in 2014. Ilminster Emporium has retained the heritage of the building, keeping the shop layout and reinstating one of the original mahogany counters.
