WEDDINGS Couple head to their favourite place for wedding
The couple: Leigh Cook, 29, a welding and fabrication service engineer from St Athan village and Charlotte Jennings, 31, an office manager from Ely, Cardiff. The couple now live in St Athan village. The wedding: The couple were married on Saturday, April 8 at St Fagans Castle at St Fagans National History Museum, followed by a reception at Old Post House. How they met: The couple met in Cardiff in 2009.
Charlotte said: “I set up a blind date for my cousin and a friend of mine.
“My friend was really nervous about a blind date so we decided to meet group.
“We walked into the bar and straight away I noticed Leigh – he looked like Ami James from Miami Ink who I had a massive crush on.
“A couple of weeks later Leigh messaged me and asked me on a date and the rest is history.” The proposal: “I told Leigh that if we didn’t get married by the time I was 30 I would leave him,” explained Charlotte.
“My 30th birthday was a week away and we weren’t married, but we had two beautiful children and we were so happy.”
Leigh later booked Charlotte a surprise in the city centre as a trip to Paris and he popped the question as they sat under the Eiffel Tower. The wedding: Charlotte said that the couple love St Fagans.
“We visit there at least two to three times a month with our children and dog,” she said.
“It made sense to book our wedding here.
“It holds precious memories for us as a family.
“We wanted a small relaxed intimate wedding with just close family and friends.” The honeymoon: The couple have decided to arrange a family holiday later in the year.
