BABIES ‘Grace is a chatty, bubbly and very laid-back baby’

-

Baby’s Jones Date and place of birth: April 14 at 4.48am at the University Hospital of Wales. Weight: 8lb 12oz Parents: Rhian Jade Jones, 26, a nursery nurse, and dad Andrew Jones, 28, a manager, from Pentwyn, Cardiff. Mum’s story: “This is my second baby and it was a lot different.

“With my first I was back and forth to the hospital quite a bit but with Grace everything went pretty smoothly.

“The only craving I had was for Rice Krispies with melted chocolate and that was for the whole way through.

“I was lucky and I didn’t have any morning sickness – it was all pretty smooth.

“We had two names in mind so we let my other daughter Sophia, name: Grace Everleigh four, pick the name and she picked Grace.

“When we found out we were having a girl, Sophia was pretty shy and when I gave birth she would not come into the hospital room to see her.

“But I took the baby over to her and gave her a teddy and said it was Grace and that helped break the ice really and now she loves looking after her and cuddling her.

“Grace is very bubbly, very chatty, and she’s just a laid-back baby.

“She sleeps well too. She’ll sleep from about 8pm to 6am and she’s done that since about two weeks.

“I actually wanted another girl, so I was really lucky to have one, but we want a boy next I think.

“I wanted another girl because I think I have such a good relationship with Sophia and with all of the dresses and dressing up.

“Having two children is completely different. You have got to be a lot more organised with the two of them but it’s just completed our family.

“The first time we went out for a walk it took us about two hours to get out of the house.

“It was a bit of a struggle at first but now it’s just part of our routine.

“At first I was really nervous going into hospital to give birth and my contractions didn’t really stop.

“I was in labour for about two hours so it was pretty quick but painful.

“It was amazing bringing her home. My daughter was really excited. She helped bring all of the bags in to the house and then they were on the sofa cwtched up watching Frozen.

“Then my mum came over too so it was a lovely family evening and meant me and Andrew had chance for some rest too.”
