BOUQUET OF THE WEEK Hairdresser also cleans and shops for her customers

A MOBILE hairdresser who goes the extra mile for her elderly customers is this week’s Echo Bouquet of the Week winner.

Bonny Richards, from Pentwyn in Cardiff, was nominated by her friend for the help she gives to her customers.

Bonny often gives their homes a quick clean or picks them up some shopping.

Bonny, 58, was nominated by 83-year-old Sylvia Neate, who has been her friend for around 33 years.

Bonny said: “I felt quite overwhelmed to be nominated, really. I’ve known Sylvia for more than 30 years after we met at a choir.

“She made me very welcome when I joined the choir, and now I cut her hair and visit her about once a month.”

Bonny said she first began helping Sylvia as she was on her own, and that she helps out several other customers.

She said: “A lot my customers haven’t got anyone to help them out, and because I’ve been doing their hair for so long, they know that they can trust me to help them out.”

Sylvia said: “I nominated Bonny because she’s a good friend of mine and she helps me and does my hair every few weeks.

“We have been friends since we met and she’s very good to me.” Bonny said she is kept very busy. “I also look after my 95-year-old mum. I’m her carer and I’ve got two grandsons, so I’ve got it all going on,” she said.
