Inside the luxury jets off to Qatar
IF YOU’RE planning a trip to the Middle East direct from Wales next year, then you will experience a touch of luxury.
The Qatar Airways Boeing 787 Dreamliners will be hitting the runways at Cardiff Airport from May. They offer luxury onboard hospitality, with 22 seats in business class and 232 seats in economy class.
According to the airline, the planes are designed for a “world-class experience” and offer customers on-board fine dining, spacious design, dual-screen interfaces (allowing for multi-tasking between a personal screen and a handheld device) and larger overhead storage areas.
Business class passengers will be able to relax in seats that recline into flat beds that have a built-in back massager and they’ll get exclusively designed cotton sleepwear from The White Company.
In economy class, the airline says it has some of the widest and most spacious seats available in the sky.
The cabin is pressured to a lower equivalent altitude, which, according to Qatar Airways, means you can breathe in more oxygen than in any other aircraft, resulting in less travel fatigue and dizziness and fewer headaches.
The planes will be part of Qatar Airways’ new daily direct flight from Cardiff to Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar – which will connect passengers to destinations like Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, China and Singapore.
The service starts on May 1 and will run seven days a week.
