-

A BUSY mother always willing to lend a hand in the community is the deserving recipient of this week’s Echo Bouquet of the Week.

Janine Jones-Pritchard, 53, from Tongwynlais, has been nominated for her tireless effort helping with numerous groups and events across the village every week.

Balancing her job as a medical secretary in the University Hospital of Wales with a busy family, Janine also volunteers with a Sunday school in Tongwynlais and is an assistant Cub leader for the area’s Scout group.

She has also been recognised for her role running the annual Scout Post fundraising scheme delivering Christmas cards across Cardiff and is a vital member of the community’s festival committee.

The mother-of-three and grandmother-of-one was nominated for her hard work by Linda Morgan, Conservative councillor for Whitchurch and Tongwynlais.

Coun Morgan said: “Janine is one of those people who is always willing to help and never says no to anything.

“If you need any extra help for one of the festivals, she’s there.

“She helps to deliver the Sunday school at St Michael’s and she runs the Scout Post every year.

“She is a part of Castell Coch Choral Society and will always stay after a concert to put everything away. It may be ordinary things, but they really matter.

“Janine has a lovely personality and is just lovely all round.”

Janine, who volunteers with the Cubs group alongside her husband and sons, said: “It’s all to try to help the community for the better, really.

“I’m not one to sit at home and watch the television, so I always try and do something.”
