■■Canton Townswomen’s Guild will be meeting on Tuesday, April 24, at 1.45pm in St Luke’s Church Hall, opposite Victoria Park on Cowbridge Road East, where they will be having afternoon tea. For further informatio­n call Hazel Fry on 029 2056 4093.

■■On Friday, April 27, Llandaff Society presents a talk called ‘One House, Three Storeys’ by Louise Mumford, archivist of the Cathedral School. She will tell the story of the progressio­n from Bryn Gynnen, to Llandaff Court and then the Cathedral School, and all its inhabitant­s. The talk starts at 7.30pm in the Memorial Hall (by the car park) and costs £2 members, £3 non-members and refreshmen­ts are provided. Everyone is welcome.

The Llandaff North and Gabalfa Hub started Wellbeing Wednesdays after its refurbishm­ent, and this included a gardening group, which meets at 10am every Wednesday. The group won a grant from Cardiff council and has bought three vegetable trugs which will be planted with edibles. There is an open day on Saturday, April 28, 11am-1pm, to show off the work done already in beautifyin­g the hub. The group is hoping more people will join as volunteers. ■■1st Dinas Powys Scout Group jumble sale is at 1.30pm on Saturday, April 28, at the Scout Hall, Highwalls Road, Dinas Powys, CF64 4AG. Admission 50p. Children free. ■■On Saturday, April 28, from 11am4pm, there will be an open day at Fairoak Bowling Club with a view to recruiting new members. Equipment and coaching for new members will be provided free. Just bring along flat shoes/trainers. The club is in Roath Pleasure Gardens, next to the recreation ground. It is being held at St Teilo’s Church, Old Church Road, Whitchurch, CF14 1AD, at 7.30pm. Tickets can be bought at the door and will be £7.
