Gavin and Stacey stars set to reunite

MICK! What on Earth would Pam say?

Gavin & Stacey star Larry Lamb – who played Gavin’s dad in the hit BBC sitcom – is to team up once again with one of his co-stars for a new series set in a North Wales caravan park.

But, rather than get back with Alison Steadman (his screen wife from the show) he’ll be reuniting with Stacey’s mum Melanie Walters for the new BBC One Wales daytime family drama.

Made by the team behind the awardwinning Moving On, Pitching In looks set to air in spring 2019 and tells the story of three generations of the same family, all struggling to make the best of a very unusual – and sometimes very difficult – situation.

Also featuring in its all-star cast will be Hayley Mills, Caroline Sheen and Ifan Huw Dafydd.

“Eleven years after Gavin & Stacey burst onto the scene I’m heading out west again, switching Barry Island for Anglesey this time,” says Larry, aged 70.

“I’m delighted to be playing the role of Frank in Pitching In – it’s a touching, funny and romantic story and a fascinating glimpse of life on the North Wales coast.”

BBC Cymru Wales Head of Commissioning Nick Andrews added: “We all need more ‘feel good’ in our lives and this warm family drama promises to be just that.

“Pitching In is a comedy drama about family, friendship and community, which will showcase the beauty of North Wales.”
