SAY HELLO to the newest schoolchildren in Cardiff!
The latest group of children to start in nursery and reception classes in the city are still getting to grips with a brand new world of learning, play and the joy of making friends for life – just weeks after starting school.
And on those landmark first days in the classroom, the South Wales Echo was there to help capture the special occasion.
The special day will still be fresh in the memories of mams, dads, grans, grandads and carers – not to mention the children themselves – across South Wales.
Each family will remember the poignant clang of that first school bell, the sight of a son or daughter disappearing through the school door for the first time, and that bittersweet feeling of saying that first goodbye to a youngster embarking on a new chapter in their lives.
And at such an important time, we’ve been working with schools to help mark that big day.
Tomorrow’s South Wales Echo will feature a special 16-page pullout packed with more than 130 pictures of children from 22 schools across the capital.
The pullout marks the latest in a series of supplements introduced this year and follows the success of our St David’s Day school pullouts.
