AIRBNB hosts in Cardiff are collectively expected to rake in more than £50,000 this month during the autumn internationals.
Wales take on Scotland at the Principality Stadium today (2.45pm kick-off ) and will then play Australia, Tonga and South Africa later this month.
Airbnb says during these four matches, hosts across the capital are collectively expected to earn more than £50,000 from guest arrivals from the teams’ countries. They say the average nightly booking per guest is £34.
Airbnb says guest arrivals to Cardiff by Scotland fans are expected to rise by 1,500% compared to the previous weekend ahead of Wales’ first game.
This comes after Airbnb released its 2018 UK Insights Report, announcing Wales as the top trending region for Airbnb activity in the UK in 2018, seeing 81% year-on-year growth in guest arrivals over the last year, and generating an economic impact of £155m for the region.
Welsh hosts on Airbnb welcomed 467,000 guest arrivals in the past year, with a typical host earning £2,600 annually.
