■■ A char­ity quiz night and raf­fle is be­ing held at the Scout Hall on Al­lens­bank Cres­cent, Heath, Cardiff, tonight to raise funds for the Paul Popham Fund, which helps re­nal pa­tients across Wales. All wel­come. Or­gan­is­ers thank all those who have helped and con­trib­uted prizes to the event.

■■On Tues­day, Novem­ber 13, Can­ton Townswomen’s Guild will be hold­ing its an­nual straw­berry tea at St Luke’s church hall (op­po­site Vic­to­ria Park). The guest speaker is Dean Pow­ell who will be talk­ing about “Land of Song”. En­trance is £2 which in­cludes tea and bis­cuits and a raf­fle. New mem­bers wel­come. ■■A Christ­mas fayre is tak­ing place on Sat­ur­day, Novem­ber 17, 10am–12.30pm, at Roath Church House, Water­loo Road, Roath, Cardiff, CF23 9BQ. Christ­mas gifts, toys, jew­ellery, cakes, jams, books, bot­tles, bric-a-brac, DVDs, CDs, games, plants, hand­bags, scarves, toi­letries and tom­bola. Tea/cof­fee avail­able. En­trance 30p, chil­dren free. Pro­ceeds to St Mar­garet’s Church, Roath.

■■Con­way Road Methodist Church, Can­ton, is hold­ing its au­tumn fayre on Sat­ur­day, Novem­ber 17, 11am1pm. Stalls will in­clude cakes, books, plants, gifts, col­lecta­bles and bric a brac, nearly new clothes and a raf­fle. Re­fresh­ments avail­able. Ad­mis­sion is £1 adults, chil­dren free. All pro­ceeds to church funds, to main­tain this com­mu­nity build­ing as it ap­proaches its 150th an­niver­sary next year.

■■A Christ­mas fayre will be held in the All Saints Lesser Hall, Vic­to­ria Square, Pe­narth, on Sat­ur­day, Novem­ber 17, 2pm-3.30pm. En­try £1 (to in­clude tea/cof­fee ). Many bar­gains to be found. All pro­ceeds for char­ity.

■■Cardiff Male Choir will be hold­ing its an­nual con­cert on Fri­day, Novem­ber 23, at 7.30pm in the Earl Haig club, Pen­lline Road, Whitchurch, Cardiff. Tick­ets can be bought on the door, price £7.
