Brexit negotiations have been a total shambles...

-

AFTER nearly three years of negotiations by the UK Government and EU officials, what a total shambles Brexit has been.

Even though Labour are in a mess in Westminster, the sheer incompetence of this Conservative Government beggars belief.

No matter what failures and injustices they inflict on British citizens – NHS in crisis, poverty the worst since World War II, crime out of control and pensioners like the former ASW steelworkers being deliberately robbed of their pensions by up to 50% or more – they are in denial.

And our Prime Minister keeps telling us to trust her and her Government.

Prime Minister, you and your Government are insulting the intelligence of the good people of our country, with such false statements. John Benson Dinas Powys

People’s Vote now only way forward

CARWYN Jones complains that “Westminster has ignored Wales during Brexit crisis” but he has allowed them to do so by handing back power from his Assembly government to Westminster.

Having got the power back, Westminster does not need to talk to his government.

The three hoping to get his job also agreed to hand back power and when given the opportunity to vote for a new People’s Vote all four of them chose not to do so, even though some of them now claim that this is what they want. Labour’s calls for an election fail to offer any real choice as Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour seem happy to allow a damaging Brexit by failing to provide any effective opposition. Those readers who support Brexit, such as Timothy Cross, and those who oppose, such as Bryan Prescott, in Wednesday’s Echo should agree that a People’s Vote on any and all possible options is now the best way to face this Brexit crisis. This effort to sell Brexit is not working WE see Mrs May trying to sell the socalled Brexit deal single-handed.

Again, her judgement is singularly lacking in that she is unable to delegate any of this to members of her Cabinet, who are conspicuous by their absence!

No-one is convinced by her efforts, least of all me. GW Hopkins Merthyr Tydfil We are throwing away our birthright IT is obvious our PM Mrs May’s ego is the driving force behind this weak Brexit contract and she hopes, just as David Cameron tried, to force her party and the country to accept her proposals of appeasement.

I suspect another costly trap. A trap set for the British public, a public overwhelmed by the relentless propaganda of fear, fear that has come from the establishment infiltrators in our Government. A cacophony of voices coming from wimpy cabinet ministers, and backbenchers alike, all singing from the

same song sheet, voices out of tune, none explaining the obvious dangers of a weak Brexit. A Brexit so weak that it squanders the birthright of the sovereign people of the United Kingdom. Complete disregard for our common laws that took hundreds of years to obtain, that have been systematically swept aside by totalitarian governments over the last century.

Unquestionably, our monarch and parliamentarians have taken oaths to uphold the laws and constitution of this United Kingdom, never to bow to a foreign power. Now the realm is on the brink of extinction; one false step and there never will be a return to democracy. Without doubt there are treacherous infiltrators amongst our representatives whose only aim is to destroy the UK.

What monarch or leaders would sanction thousands of rules, rules that have never been debated in our Parliament, arbitrarily imposed upon the people by the back door? It is possible that not one person in a hundred knows what is hidden in the small print of this Brexit contract. The United Kingdom will become a vassal state that will kowtow to the will of the commissars that have covertly devised this system of corporate rules.

There is still time for a government of national unity that should have been formed when the election ended in stalemate, forcing Mrs May to buy the premiership.

Many will have no knowledge of our Bill of Rights, and the Coronation Oath that states: “No foreign prince, person or prelate hath, or ought to have, any jurisdiction, power, superiority, pre-eminence, or authority, ecclesiastical or spiritual within this realm.” Without doubt every EU treaty has broken those oaths, allowing unconstitutional rules to be imposed upon us.

There is more, but it is clear that our totalitarian governments have disregarded the people’s rights and state they are the supreme power, which they are not. We the people are the sovereign power; they, mere representatives, to be swept aside at the will of the sovereign people. The time has come for this Prime Minister to take the responsibility for a previous Tory prime minister’s treason, and fall upon her sword. George Chelmis Cardiff

Photograph brought back many memories

AFTER seeing Cyril Murphy’s photo in the Echo, it brought back happy memories as I was also involved in the very early stages of Sunday League Football with City Motors, who then became Lex Motors and latterly Heath Cossacks.

Many obstacles occurred against Sunday football but they were overcome with hard work by Cyril, David Stacey, Keith Dwyer, Chris Hallam and others I can’t remember.

At aged 92, they were happy times and I wish Cyril the very best in the future. John Harding Llanrumney
