MISSING GRADUATE MYSTERY
FAMILY VOICES CONCERNS FOR CARDIFF-BASED CAMBRIDGE GRADUATE WHO HAS NOT BEEN SEEN OR HEARD FROM FOR MONTHS
THE FAMILY of a Cambridge graduate from Cardiff have issued a desperate appeal after not seeing or hearing from him for months.
Jonathan Humphrey, 38, is described as a “kind, considerate, sensitive and caring person who is highly intelligent and very likeable”.
Jon, as he is known, is from Roath in Cardiff and his family live in Penarth.
He has first-class honours and masters degrees from Cambridge University, has run his own business, fundraised for Amnesty International and designed apps for smartphones. His last job was as a software engineer.
But it appears that following the death of his father and a trip to America his life has fallen apart.
He had not been seen for some time prior to being reported missing on Wednesday, November 21.
In a moving statement his family said: “Jon is a very capable and resourceful man who can turn his hand to most things.
“Over the years he has done a number of jobs from fund raising through an agent for Amnesty International and Greenpeace, worked as a trainee chef, a labourer, run his own landscaping business, and his last job was as a software engineer.
“He has a first-class honours in computer science and a masters from Cambridge University and has also produced apps for iPhone.
“He is a kind, considerate, sensitive and caring person who is highly intelligent, and very likeable. His life fell apart after his father died in December 2013.
“He went to America to visit friends and do some travelling in 2014 but seemed a changed person on his return.
“He has been through some very difficult times since then and has cut off contact with his family and a very long-term friend.”

Jon is also urged to make contact to confirm he is safe and well.
