Some more toilet transformations...
Cathays Park
A Grade II-lised toilet block behind National Museum Cardiff and City Hall was put out for tender in September.
Artist’s impressions have shown the potential for extending the property and providing a covered area for seating.
Owen Cahill, from property advisory firm EJ Hales, which is marketing the lease of the property for about £19,500, said the company had already received a large amount of interest in the former toilet block.
Cardiff council said that planning applications for a change of use will be looked upon favourably.
Barry Island
Plans are well underway to turn the disused public changing rooms at Nell’s Point, Barry Island, into a grand restaurant hub.
The company behind the development is Morse Affiliated, which has a proven track record renovating the 1930’s cinema at Oyster Wharf in Mumbles.
Work on the development is scheduled to be completed before the end of 2019.
Victoria Park
Bloc Coffee took over the neglected toilet block next to Victoria Park on Cowbridge Road East earlier this year.
The transformation into a quirky coffee shop took about six months.
Business partners Alex Parker and Donna Paton have since hosted pop-up events and hope to establish supper clubs.
Fairwater Green
A disused former public toilet on an overgrown patch of land on St Fagans Road in Fairwater was listed for sale in 2013.
The site was snapped up and later opened up as the trendy Bunker Coffee Station.
The venue has since been rebranded under the chain Mr Coffi.
