■Ukulele Nights will provide entertainm­ent at Albany Road Baptist Church today, Friday, December 7, at 2pm with seasonal songs. In the lounge at the rear of the church (access via the big car park). Entry is free. A voluntary charity collection will be taken at the end for a charity of their choosing. Tea and coffee provided. All welcome.

■ A beginners’ Christmas crochet session is taking place at Llanover Hall tomorrow, Saturday, December 8, 10am-noon. Cost is £11 including materials. Book online or 029 2087 2030.

■ Father Christmas is set to put in an appearance at Cardiff Riding School on Sunday, December 16. Other Christmas festivitie­s include a tombola stall, where everyone who enters wins a prize. There will also be homemade cakes, mince pies, hot drinks – and an opportunit­y to meet the hardworkin­g horses and ponies. The event is run by Friends of Cardiff Riding School who help raise money to buy essential equipment for the school, and organise work teams to help keep the place looking immaculate. ■ The Open Door Club for senior citizens is held at Christ the King Parish Centre, Newborough Avenue, Llanishen, Cardiff, every third Thursday of the month, 2pm-4pm. Free tea/coffee and biscuits, fellowship, conversati­on, raffle and entertainm­ent.
