Bus changes for Christmas and New Year in city
IF YOU’RE thinking of doing some very last minute Christmas shopping right before the big day, or planning on heading to the sales, there’s some travel advice you should know.
Cardiff Bus has confirmed all the timetable changes being made between Christmas and New Year, which will see services altered between December 24 and January 1.
And the company is even offering a select number of free routes on its night services on New Year’s Eve.
The changes are as follows: From Christmas Eve all services will follow a Saturday timetable, except for services 30, 98, H59 and X59, which will run a normal weekday service. There will be an early finish on all routes.
No buses will run on Christmas Day.
There will be a special timetable running across certain routes on Boxing Day.
From December 27 to December 28, a Saturday timetable will be in operation on all routes, except for services 30, 98, H59 and X59. These will run a normal weekday service. On these days night buses will only run on services 18 and 27.
Normal timetables will apply on December 29 and 30.
New Year’s Eve will see all services follow Saturday timetables during the daytime, except for the 30, 98, H59 and X59, which will follow a normal weekday service. There will also be an early finish across all routes.
Cardiff Bus will also be offering free travel on selected routes from approximately 7.30pm on New Year’s Eve, thanks to sponsorship from bus manufacturer Alexander Dennis.
There will be a limited daytime timetable across certain routes on New Year’s Day.
Normal service will resume on January 2.

“We’re continuing to run a comprehensive service to ensure customers can enjoy their festive activities.”
