Sounds of the ‘80s to feature at summer gig
A NEW music, food and drink festival will launch in Cardiff next summer with three stars of the ‘80s confirmed to perform.
Bananarama, Welsh legend Bonnie Tyler and veteran fitness guru Mr Motivator will appear at Feels Like Summer, which will be held in Sophia Gardens on July 20, 2019.
The new event, staged by Cardiffbased Orchard Live, promises to be one of the best parties of the summer. There will be live music from headliners Bananarama, special guest Bonnie Tyler, a workout with Mr Motivator, a Roller Disco and a host of street food and drink at Sophia Gardens’ Front Lawn.
A local street food village will feature Ffwrnes Pizza, Got Beef, Puckin’ Poutine and Hard Lines Coffee with more names to be announced. There will also be a gin bar and a Prosecco bar.
Cardiff DJs GRLTLK will be spinning party favourites throughout the day, and there will be a roller disco with a funky town disco DJ supplying tunes to glide too.
Orchard director Pablo Janczur said: “We’ve always wanted to create an event that is a giant summer party with music directly at the heart.
“Feels Like Summer is exactly that. With music from headliners Bananarama, Bonnie Tyler, a roller disco, a glitter bar, a whole host of street food that is scrumptious and much more to be announced. Come rain or shine this event will definitely Feel Like Summer.”
