MONTHS after Debbie paid drug dealer Simon to ‘mess up’ Joe in an attack which went horribly wrong and led to poor Ross being scarred with acid – it’s time for the single mum to face the consequenc­es.

The Dingles are trying to stay positive about Debbie’s trial, but it’s clear they believe that, barring a Christmas miracle, she’s going to be spending the New Year in prison.

Sarah thinks it’s all Joe and Graham’s fault and plans to make her feelings clear by hurling a stone through a Home Farm window. However, she’s stopped by Faith, who has a better idea for getting revenge.

Daz also fears he’ll be spending Christmas in jail, until Amelia insists on taking the blame for the hit-and-run – and he lets her, thinking she’s too young to be arrested. Well, that’s someone who shouldn’t expect a Father of the Year mug from Santa.

IT’S going to be a difficult Christmas for Mandy as she tells Darren she’s having a scan to find out if their baby has spina bifida.

Darren is angry she’s kept the news from him, but Jack and Nancy convince him to attend the appointmen­t, where the doctor confirms that the baby does have the condition.

Meanwhile, Donna-Marie makes the school play a lot more dramatic when she gets up on stage to announce that Sinead is a former prostitute.

Elsewhere, Breda and Goldie ever more sinister as she offers to spend more time with Jacob to ‘help’ the teen with his moods. However, it’s her turn to sulk when Jacob confides in Ellis that he’s seeing an older girl – and a concerned Ellis shares the revelation with David...

Nicola and Robert are feeling bad about the evictions, although the cash they’ve scammed may help to ease their conscience­s, Bob is struggling, and there are secret plans afoot in the village. are on a mission to save the McQueens’ Christmas, and decide that Sylver is the best person to sweet-talk Mercedes into letting them all spend it together.

After drowning his sorrows in the Rovers, Brian decides he’s going to attend the performanc­e anyway, and he stands at the back as Phil paints himself as a hero to the governors.

However, when Jack spots Brian, he, Liam and the other kids revert to the rap version of the play, which is a resounding success – but Phil remains determined to have the last laugh.

When Johnny agrees to help Liz get Jim and Hannah out of a tight spot, Jenny becomes convinced they’re up to something else, and during a row about the couple’s closeness, she falls down the stairs.
