toilet flooded in my son’s new en suite and there are now discoloured patches. We think pink mould is coming through the vinyl from the moisture. After removing the vinyl should we remove the plywood put down to lay the vinyl. Or do we treat with a spray?

the plywood if it’s wet. It’s probably 9mm thick and you would probably only need one sheet which should cost about £18. Screws cost about £5.

have a mossy concrete pantile roof. Is there a moss killer you can recommend?

the roof is north facing or shaded it will be hard to get rid of moss. Cut back overhanging vegetation and scrape moss off. Then, run a strip/line of flat copper over the ridge of the roof – copper is supposed to prevent moss forming. I must say I have never tried this myself but I’ve heard good results.

HAVE small patches of blue fungus type marks on my living room wall. We had artex for years so we put plasterboard over it, then skimmed and painted. I’m thinking damp could be down to moisture between the artex and plasterboard. What do you think?

need to cut out damaged plasterboard and replace. You will need to redecorate and that will probably be more hassle than replacing the damp plasterboard.
