HIGH drama in Erinsborough usually consists of somebody getting in a sweat after accidentally overhearing something said by somebody else and getting the wrong end of the stick about it.

So fans should brace themselves for genuinely shocking events this week when Terese is shot and a gunman takes hostages in Harold’s.

Terese is rushed to hospital and a guiltridden Paul flies in a specialist to carry out an emergency operation. Jane realises he will never stop loving his ex-girlfriend, so leaves town, while Piper is confused when she hears a semi-conscious Terese call out Paul’s name.

Meanwhile, Ned and Mark pin down one of the villains, Ivan Renshaw, but the other, Raymond, escapes and wreaks havoc at Harold’s.

HOLLYOAKS Channel 4

NANA McQueen isn’t feeling well and needs someone to keep an eye on her, but she probably shouldn’t bother looking to Mercedes, as she’s busy partying with Liam, above.

In fact, Mercedes carries on partying even when Max and Bobby are in the room with her. But will Lisa planting drugs in her handbag force her to sober up?

Mercedes is far from being the only McQueen behaving badly this week, as Breda is re-enacting her own version of Misery with Louis. He’s locked on her pig farm with two broken legs, but he is allowed to write a letter to Leela.

HOME AND AWAY Channel 5

RAFFY returns to school, but finds it hard to settle in. Ryder doesn’t make it any easier by failing to tell her that, despite having passed his resits, he hasn’t received permission to start Year 12 alongside her.

Raffy then drops a bombshell of her own and attacks a bully – but later has no memory of having done so.

Jasmine worries about her relationship with Robbo after discovering he was present when Tori’s IVF implant was transferred. However, he says something to make her realise everything will be fine after all. Bless.

Dean starts his new job and offers to pay for a private detective to locate Bella while Willow and Justin return from their break, although she is clearly desperately unhappy.

Maggie and Irene work on Leah’s vlog in an attempt to drum up interest in the fundraiser.
