■■Tai Chi/Qigong classes for 2019 are starting in Cardiff. Beijing 24 Step Form is on tomorrow, January 15, at St Mary’s Social Hall, Talbot Street, Canton. From 6.30pm to 7.45pm. On Wednesday, January 16, Health Qigong will take place at The Hyb in Llandaff North, 2pm-3pm.

■■The Cardiff and District Rhondda Society will be meeting for the first time in 2019 on Wednesday, January 16, at 10.30am, at Ararat Church, The Common, Whitchurch, Cardiff. A friendly get-together with a group of people who have links with the Rhondda Valleys. New members welcome. Refreshments will be served. This month the society will be holding its AGM.
■■The pupils of St John Lloyd RC Primary School, along with pupils from Trowbridge Primary School, Pen Y Pil Primary School and St Illtyd’s Catholic High School are holding the Trowbridge Community Lantern Parade on Friday, January 25. People are invited to St John Lloyd school hall at 4pm for hot dogs and a samba drumming display followed by the parade at 5pm. The parade will move along Cemaes Crescent and then around Cemaes Community Park. The school address is Brynbala Way, Trowbridge, Cardiff, CF3 1SA. Organisers are grateful to the Big Lottery Fund for funding this project and would also like to thank National Lottery players for their support.
