■■Tai Chi/Qigong classes for 2019 are start­ing in Cardiff. Bei­jing 24 Step Form is on to­mor­row, Jan­uary 15, at St Mary’s So­cial Hall, Tal­bot Street, Can­ton. From 6.30pm to 7.45pm. On Wed­nes­day, Jan­uary 16, Health Qigong will take place at The Hyb in Llandaff North, 2pm-3pm.

■■The Cardiff and Dis­trict Rhondda So­ci­ety will be meet­ing for the first time in 2019 on Wed­nes­day, Jan­uary 16, at 10.30am, at Ararat Church, The Com­mon, Whitchurch, Cardiff. A friendly get-to­gether with a group of peo­ple who have links with the Rhondda Val­leys. New mem­bers wel­come. Re­fresh­ments will be served. This month the so­ci­ety will be hold­ing its AGM.

■■The pupils of St John Lloyd RC Pri­mary School, along with pupils from Trow­bridge Pri­mary School, Pen Y Pil Pri­mary School and St Ill­tyd’s Catholic High School are hold­ing the Trow­bridge Com­mu­nity Lantern Pa­rade on Fri­day, Jan­uary 25. Peo­ple are in­vited to St John Lloyd school hall at 4pm for hot dogs and a samba drum­ming dis­play fol­lowed by the pa­rade at 5pm. The pa­rade will move along Ce­maes Cres­cent and then around Ce­maes Com­mu­nity Park. The school ad­dress is Bryn­bala Way, Trow­bridge, Cardiff, CF3 1SA. Or­gan­is­ers are grate­ful to the Big Lot­tery Fund for fund­ing this project and would also like to thank Na­tional Lot­tery play­ers for their sup­port.

■■Ev­ery Wed­nes­day dur­ing school term time there is a ses­sion for par­ents or car­ers to bring ba­bies and tod­dlers to Tots and Tunes in Caer­philly.
