Exiles to train at City Stadium

-

NEWPORT County will train at Cardiff City Stadium ahead of their Sky Bet League Two Play-Off final against Tranmere Rovers at Wembley on Saturday, May 25.

Manager Michael Flynn was delighted to have the help of their near neighbours as his side looks to gain a place in League One.

He said: “It shows the class and exactly the kind of football club Cardiff City are for choosing to help a fellow Welsh team out when they knew the kind of situation we were in with regards to training leading up to Wembley.

“It’s an unbelievable gesture from everyone at Cardiff, I’d like to personally thank Neil Warnock, Ken Choo and everyone connected with the club for making this possible. It shows what is possible when Welsh football comes together.”

The Exiles’ usual training facilities are undergoing pre-scheduled close season maintenance in preparation for the new season.

Tranmere booked their final place with a 1-1 draw at Forest Green Rovers on Monday, earning them a 2-1 aggregate victory.
