Man arrested after woman’s death released on bail again

A MAN twice arrested following the death of a 21-year-old woman in Cardiff has been released on bail for a second time.

Lauren Griffiths was found dead at a flat in Glynrhondd­a Street, Cardiff, at about 6.30pm on Tuesday, April 30.

A 22-year-old man, who police said was known to Lauren, was arrested in the days following the discovery of her body.

He was released on bail on May 4 pending further investigat­ions.

South Wales Police said the same man was re-arrested on suspicion of murder at his home in Wrexham on Tuesday after “new informatio­n” came to light.

Then on Wednesday, a police spokeswoma­n said he had now been released on bail for a second time pending further inquiries.

She added that Lauren’s family, who live in the Oswestry area of Shropshire, have been informed and are being supported by family liaison officers.

Officers said further tests and inquiries are being made to establish the exact cause of Lauren’s death.

Detective Inspector Stuart Wales, from South Wales Police Major Crime Investigat­ion Team, said: “We continue to receive informatio­n from the public, for which we are extremely grateful, and are keen to hear from anyone else who can offer informatio­n.”
