Not even paying lip service to her vows
ONCE upon a time it was hard to avoid Mandy Dingle as she dominated the Dales between 1995 and 2001. Now she’s back, and when she walks in on Marlon’s wife Jessie and Al locking lips, the old favourite soon makes her opinions obvious.
It’s not long before she has caught up with the Dingles, but she and son Vinny are hiding something. The question is: what?
Meanwhile, the kids continue to run rings around Jessie at the
after school club. Little wonder Al’s suggestion of a head teacher’s job in Dubai grabs her interest.
Al has already arranged a phone interview for her, and when Marlon arrives home to catch Jessie in mid-interview, he’s far from happy.
Poor Marlon. After four marriages he’s due a bit of romatic good fortune, and it really looked as though he might have found a keeper in Jessie, so just imagine how furious he’d be if he discovered that Al had made a move on her.
Elsewhere, Tracy is in a bad mood even during her birthday celebrations because she has yet to prove that Frank wasn’t behind the factory fire.
Then she overhears a conversation between Dawn and Will and becomes convinced Dawn knows more about the fire than she is letting on. Tracy corners her in the church and prepares to vent her anger.
Meanwhile, Vanessa prepares a birthday tea, eager to bury the hatchet with her sister; Doug is guilt-ridden as Charity ups her campaign against drugs, and Moira and Nate struggle to find time alone without being disturbed.
