Owen Money’s ready for his panto season... oh no he’s not!

-

COMEDIAN and radio presenter Owen Money has had to pull out of his beloved panto stint after he collapsed at his home last week.

A familiar face on the pantomime circuit for the past 30 years, and the stage in general, Owen, pictured, was due to play Wishee Washee in Aladdin at venues across South Wales.

He made the announcement via his social media accounts, saying he had been advised by doctors to avoid the panto season for now.

Owen has confirmed that his radio show will return at the end of the month and scheduled shows for 2020 are going ahead as planned.

The Merthyr Tydfil-born entertainer confirmed that Stella and Justice League actor, Julian Lewis Jones, will take his place in Aladdin which will call at Abertillery, Blackwood, Tumble and Cwmbran.

He wrote: “After a collapse at my home last Tuesday and a spell in hospital I’ve been advised by my doctors not to embark on my annual panto season, for the time being. I have a heart monitor fitted for the next few weeks to aid my treatment. My doctors are very confident that I will make a full recovery. I feel good in myself and thank you to everyone for their kind messages.

“I have decided I will return to my radio shows starting the 30th November; as I don’t feel radio will be strenuous at all and sitting at my desk playing some epic music would in fact be very therapeutic for me. I’m not ruling out a return to my beloved panto but at this time I must put my health and doctors advice first.”
