MUM DIED IN BOXING DAY ROAD TRAGEDY

FAMILY’S GRIEF AT DEATH OF WOMAN, 32, WHO WAS A ‘ROCK’ TO HER LOVED ONES

THE grieving family of a 32-year-old woman who died on Boxing Day have told of their devastatio­n at the loss of the “fun-loving” mum.

Kerri-Ann Assirati, from Nantyglo, near Ebbw Vale, died following an incident on the A467 near Brynmawr.

In a statement released through Gwent Police, her family described her as a popular and “bubbly” member of the community.

They said: “Kerri was a fun-loving mother, sister, aunty, partner, daughter and twin sister.

“She was always outgoing and bubbly, the life and soul and rock of her friends and family.

“Kerri is well-loved by all the community and a massive loss to everyone.”

Gwent Police said: “Officers were called to a collision involving a pedestrian and a car on the A467 near Brynmawr on Thursday, December 26, at 9.10am.

“A 32-year-old woman died at the scene. She has now be named as Kerri-Ann Assirati from the Nantyglo area.”

The road was closed for around five hours while investigat­ive work was carried out at the scene.

Confirmati­on of the death yesterday sparked an outpouring of sympathy and grief online.

Carol Davies wrote: “Such tragic news. Still can’t get my head around it.

“Kerri’s such a lovely kind beautiful bubbly girl fab mum always there for everyone she will be truly missed by many thinking of her family and friends at this sad time.”

Melissa Ellis posted: “So sad, thoughts to all her family and friends. Also to those in the vehicle. Life will never be the same for either, though a young life taken so soon and heartfelt love to all her family.. God Bless”

Sara Richards said: “Very sad. Devastated to hear this today. Thinking of all your family, friends, your partner and children, I know they all meant the world to you.”

Sian Hughes wrote: “So so sad and tragic. Such a lovely bubbly girl. Thinking of her family and friends at this awful time.”

Officers want to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or the moments before it.
