BRUNO Fernandes, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood fired Manchester United to a 3-0 victory over relegation-threatened Watford.

Fernandes’ penalty gave the hosts a half-time lead that Martial and Greenwood added to in a win that moves United up to fifth.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang struck twice as Arsenal recovered from an early setback to beat Everton in a thrilling five-goal clash.

The visitors led inside 49 seconds through Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Eddie Nketiah levelled for the Gunners before Aubameyang struck either side of a Richarliso­n goal to hand Arsenal a 3-2 win.

Diogo Jota bagged a first-half brace as Wolves crushed Norwich 3-0. Raul Jimenez poached his 21st of the campaign early in the second period.

Chelsea beat Tottenham 2-1 with goals from Olivier Giroud and Marcos Alonso in another match affected by VAR controvers­y.

Giroud breached the Spurs defence in the 15th minute and was involved in the build-up to Alonso’s superb long-range strike three minutes into the second half.

Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso looked certain to be dismissed for his apparent stamp on Cesar Azpilicuet­a, but the Argentinia­n somehow avoided a red card following a VAR review.

Antonio Rudiger’s late own goal offered Spurs some mild comfort.

Second-placed Manchester City extended their advantage over thirdplace­d Leicester with a 1-0 win at the King Power. Gabriel Jesus scored the

winner 10 minutes from time.

VAR was key to Burnley’s 3-0 home victory against Bournemout­h.

Matej Vydra opened the scoring in the 53rd minute. Then VAR intervened, with Harry Wilson’s goal ruled out before Burnley were instead awarded a penalty at the other end. Adam Smith had been penalised for a handball he committed just before Bournemout­h broke to score. Jay Rodriguez converted the spot-kick.

McNeil killed off the game with a third for Burnley.

Shane Long scored with his knee in the eighth minute and Stuart Armstrong made the points safe as Southampto­n beat Aston Villa 2-0.

Patrick van Aanholt’s stunning free-kick secured a 1-0 win for Crystal Palace over Newcastle.

Sheffield United and Brighton shared a 1-1 draw at Bramall Lane.
