Officers from South Wales Police were called to Harris Avenue in Rumney on Monday at 3.25pm following reports of a serious assault caused by what are described as a machete and shotgun.

A spokesman for the force said detectives investigating the incident have secured four scenes across the Grangetown area of Cardiff.

Acting Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Wales, from the major crime investigation team, said: “This is a fast moving investigation and we are very grateful to members of the community for their continued support.

“There are four separate scenes across Grangetown and we are still appealing to anyone who has any information, but hasn’t yet contacted us to do so. However insignificant they might think their information is, it could still provide some crucial evidence.”

The force is asking anyone wit information to contact South Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800555111, quoting number 125586.
