JOE LYCETT’S GOT YOUR BACK Channel 4, 8pm

CONTINUING his own specific brand of consumer justice, Joe returns to get angry and fight more battles for the British public.

This time, the thing that’s got his goat is the toll on Liverpool’s Mersey Gateway Bridge – or rather the fines.

Taking to the streets of Liverpool, he decides he’s going to hold a Merseyflow Awareness Day.

It all leads to Joe rapping on an open-top bus with what’s left of Atomic Kitten and Kim Woodburn.

Elsewhere, he tackles sexism in advertising for pet food. Watch out for a disturbing image of a pup named Spaniella Westbrook.

Scarlett Moffatt shares her tips on getting a bargain when shopping online.

And comedian Rosie Jones investigates disabled access in gyms, discovering that quite often there just isn’t. “Gym people love stairs,” she sighs.

Joe also chucks car insurance bad practice on the scrapheap and scores what he calls the biggest ever victory for a consumer show.

THE GRAHAM NORTON SHOW BBC1, 9pm

IF there is one thing lockdown has proved, it’s that we always took for granted a studio audience. That crowd that just seemed to be on a jolly.

Their absence is hugely felt on some TV shows. Have I Got News For You failed abysmally. In America, even chat show queen Ellen DeGeneres doesn’t seem as funny on her lonesome.

So you’ve got to hand it to Graham, witty enough to make this work, interviewing star guests from their sofas around the world.

It’s not the same, of course – it’s a bit like he’s narrating a best bits show.

However, Graham brings the same energy and still has an admirable line-up.

Tonight he chats to Sir Patrick Stewart, Ricky Gervais and Thandie Newton, plus there’s music from Christine and the Queens and a visit to the Red Chair – aka viewers’ own armchairs.

“Is this The Graham Norton Show? It’s the closest we could get,” quips Graham. And we’re glad it’s here.
