JOKER: 80 YEARS CRAZY

IT’S been 80 years since the maniacal monarch of murder and mayhem made his first appearance in the pages of Batman #1.

And to celebrate, this gorgeous volume collects together some of his most fiendish exploits.

Delving deep into the Joker’s back catalogue of infamy, expect tales ranging from his first appearance, through the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, up to the present day. With stories by legendary writers like Bob Kane, and Bill Finger, Neal Adams, Denny O’Neil, Jim Lee, Philip Tan and Hollywood director John Carpenter, this feels like an anniversary not to be missed.

■ Joker: 80 Crazy Years is out at the end of April, £9.99.

SPREAD SOME GEEKERY

WORKING from home has seen the rise of the virtual meeting.

Google hangouts, Zoom, Discord ... the list is endless. But Zoom is emerging as a personal favourite, as it comes with a host of customizable virtual backgrounds. So far my colleagues have seen me in The Simpsons’ living room, above, on the ocean floor with Nemo, and on the bridge of the Enterprise D.

HBO has just added backgrounds from Game of Thrones, DC has posted myriad locations from the Batcave to Arkham Asylum, and Marvel lets you meet from Wakanda, Asgard, or Tony Stark’s workshop.

FIRST GLIMPSE AT PS5 CONTROLLER

SONY has revealed the first images of the controller for the upcoming PS5.

Officially called the DualSense, Sony claims the controller will capture a broader range of motions.

The trigger buttons will also change their tension for different needs – like firing a gun, or drawing back a bowstring.

And like the built-in speaker on the PS4 controller – this goes a step further and includes a microphone – so you can bin off your headset.

Finished in white, it looks beautifully sleek and stark – but does it tease that the console itself will be white? We shall see.
