RHIAN Brewster will remain at Swansea City for the remainder of the 2019/20 season after officially agreeing to extend his loan contract from Liverpool.

The striker joined the Swans in January on a temporary agreement until the end of the current campaign.

However, his deal was set to expire at the end of June, meaning he would be unavailable to play for the Swans in their final games of the protracted season.

But it has been revealed that the Swans have agreed terms with Jurgen Klopp’s side for the forward to finish off the 2019/20 term in the Championship.

Brewster has scored four times in his 11 league appearances for Swansea to date.

He was part of the England Under17s side that won the World Cup under Steve Cooper in 2017.

And in a further boost to the Swans’ play-off aspirations, they have also agreed a deal to keep Aldo Kalulu at the club for the remainder of the campaign.

The Frenchman joined Swansea last summer from Swiss outfit Basel but has missed a significant portion of the campaign due to injury.

However, the winger is now fit to feature in Swansea’s final nine games of the season.

Ben Wilmot and Freddie Woodman have already agreed to extend their loan stays from Watford and Newcastle United respectively.

The Swans are in the process of working on deals to keep Chelsea duo Marc Guehi and Conor Gallagher at the Liberty Stadium for the remainder of the season.

Speaking ahead of his side’s trip to Middlesbrough on Saturday, Cooper admitted he fully expected all of his loan stars to remain at the club for the remainder of the season.

“Freddie and Ben were sorted fairly quickly”, Cooper explained. loans ended in early May.

“The rest of the boys on loan are end of June, so there’s still time on that, but we don’t think there’ll be problems.

“With the out-of-contract players, there’s no individual update as of yet but I’m very comfortable with the everyone’s situation. But certainly, everyone who was available before the lockdown is available for the rest of the season.”

Swansea are currently 11th in the league table with nine matches remaining. They are just three points adrift of the play-off places ahead of their clash with Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.
