Restaurant launches pop-up venue
IN WHAT would usually be the busiest time of the year for Cardiff restaurants, footfall remains low for many.
But despite restaurants facing unprecedented challenges, the Potted Pig on High Street is determined to thrive – by launching its first ever pop-up restaurant at The Corporation Yard in Canton.
Jahan Abedi, the owner of the Potted Pig, said: “Each year the festivities bring in the crowds in what is always the peak season for us.
“Despite reduced capacity in the restaurant, we had hoped that the coming weeks would offer us some respite – but customers are still hesitant.
“This has meant we have had to really rethink how we increase trade through the winter – leading us to launching a market pop launch during winter.
“This is something none of us thought we would ever be saying, but nevertheless extremely exciting.”
The Potted Pig Pop-Up served a rotational menu of street-food twists of its in-house menu, and head chef Harris Lloyd debuted new and exclusive dishes at the alfresco outdoor market.
The Potted Pig will be at The Corporation Yard in Canton until December 20. It will be open on Thursdays and Fridays from 4pm to 10pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm to 10pm.
